Privacy Policy

WDI Corporation and its group companies (hereinafter referred to as the “WDI Group”) are fully cognizant that protecting personal information is crucial to individual privacy when providing services related to its restaurant business and sales of related products (hereinafter referred to as “the Services”). In order to properly manage the personal information of its customers, the WDI Group has set forth a basic policy on the protection of personal information (hereinafter referred to as the “Privacy Policy”), and the WDI Group acts in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Compliance with laws and ordinances

When handling personal information, the WDI Group shall comply with laws and ordinances regarding personal information such as the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, the provisions stipulated in this Privacy Policy, and other norms, and the WDI Group shall act in accordance with internal regulations.

2. Purposes of use of personal information

The WDI Group will use personal information to the extent necessary for the following purposes:
(1)To provide the Services
(2)To provide information on the Services, to respond to inquiries, etc.
(3)To provide information on products, services, etc.
(4)To deal with violations of the Terms of Service for the Services and other policies (hereinafter referred to as the “Terms of Service and other policies”)
(5)To notify you of changes to the Terms of Service and other policies regarding the Services
(6)To help improve the Services, develop new services, etc.
(7)To create statistical data related to the Services in a format that does not allow individuals to be identified
(8)For other purposes incidental to the purposes of use above
When collecting personal information, the purpose for which the information is to be used shall be clearly stated, a point of contact shall be identified, and personal information shall be collected to the extent necessary.

In addition, personal information shall not be handled beyond the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use without obtaining your consent. However, this does not apply in the following instances:
(1)Pursuant to laws and ordinances (including local ordinances)
(2)When personal information is needed to protect the life, body, or property of an individual and obtaining consent is difficult
(3)When personal information is particularly necessary to improve public health or to promote the sound upbringing of children and obtaining consent is difficult
(4)When the WDI Group must cooperate with a national agency, a local government, or an individual or entity entrusted by either a national agency or local government to perform duties prescribed by laws and ordinances and obtaining consent is likely to impede the performance of those duties
(5)When personal data are provided to an academic research institution and that academic research institution must handle those personal data for academic research purposes (including instances where those personal data are handled in part for academic research purposes but excluding instances where there is a risk of unjustified infringement on the rights and interests of individuals)

3. Acquisition of personal information

The WDI Group will acquire personal information through legal and proper means.

4. Provision of personal data to third parties

The WDI Group will not disclose or provide personal data to third parties without the prior approval of the individual, except as required by laws and ordinances. However, the aforementioned provision on providing personal data to third parties does not apply in the following instances:
Instances where personal data are provided in association with the outsourcing of all or part of the handling of personal data within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use Instances where personal data are provided in conjunction with a succession of operations as a result of a merger or other reasons
Instances where personal information is used jointly in accordance with the provisions of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information

5. Outsourcing of the handling of personal data

When the WDI Group outsources the handling of personal data to a subcontractor, the WDI Group shall oblige the subcontractor to protect personal data via contract or other means and supervise the subcontractor to ensure that personal data are handled appropriately.

6. Joint use of personal data

When the WDI Group jointly uses personal data with WDI Group companies and franchisees, the WDI Group shall notify or disclose (1) the fact that personal data will be jointly used, (2) the pieces of personal data to be jointly used, (3) the scope of companies that will be jointly using personal data, (4) the purpose of use for which personal data will be jointly used with companies, and (5) the name and address of the company responsible for managing personal data and the full name of its representative.

7. Provision of personal data to third parties located in foreign countries

The WDI Group may provide personal information to WDI Group companies in other countries to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use.
Each WDI Group company to which personal information is provided shall have a system to continuously take appropriate action as cited in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

8. Disclosure, corrections, etc.

When a customer requests that the WDI Group disclose, correct, or discontinue the use of retained personal data, the WDI Group shall promptly comply with the request within a reasonable period of time and to a reasonable extent as prescribed by laws and ordinances.

9. Use of cookies and other technologies

(1)The web services provided by the WDI Group may use cookies and similar technologies. These technologies help the WDI Group to ascertain the usage of the web services it provides and help to improve services. Users who wish to disable cookies may do so by changing the settings on their web browsers. However, if you disable cookies, you may not be able to use some features of those services.
(2)The web services of the WDI Group use Google Analytics provided by Google LLC to research and analyze the usage of those web services. For more detailed information on Google Analytics, including how the data is collected and processed, please visit Google’s website.

(3)The web services provided by the WDI Group have enabled Google Analytics Advertising Features. The web services use the following features and they use third party cookies such as the DoubleClick cookie for advertising and site improvement.

Google Analytics’ User Attribute Report and User Attribute Report and Interest Report
These enable the web services to use Google Analytics cookies to analyze and gauge trends in user age, sex, browsing history, and interest in the Services.
If you do not wish to use the Google Analytics Advertising Features, you can disable tracking through your settings, which can be done by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on in your browser.

10. Point of contact for inquiries and complaints

The following point of contact has been established to handle inquiries and consultations regarding personal information, and it shall respond appropriately and promptly.

11. Security measures

When managing personal information, the WDI Group shall take the utmost care to prevent external leaking of that information and it shall strive to protect personal information by implementing reasonable security measures to protect that information from related risks, including unauthorized access, loss, destruction, falsification, and leaks.
Franchisee companies, business partners, and other relevant parties are asked to help protect personal information.

12. Continuous improvement

The WDI Group shall continuously strive to maintain and improve its internal system to protect personal information, and it shall continuously review and improve its system to manage and efforts to protect personal information. The WDI Group shall also continuously train and educate its employees, including directors, to protect personal information.
