WDI Corporation signed a franchise agreement with California Pizza Kitchen,
Inc. (CPK), the major pizza restaurant chain in the USA on February 13,
2006. As part of the agreement, WDI obtained the exclusive right to open
CPK in Japan, Guam, and Northern Mariana Islands.
CPK, a leading casual dining chain, opened its first location in Los
Angeles, CA in 1985 as full-service restaurants featuring pizza hinted by
global taste and a broad selection of appetizers, soups, salads, pastas,
sandwiches, and desserts. CPK is now popular with 28 kinds of unique and
delicious pizza and operating more than 180 restaurants in 27 states in the
USA and 5 overseas countries.
WDI Corporation is planning to open 10 CPK locations in Japan within the
next 5 years with the first restaurant scheduled to open in the fall of
2006. CPK will be appealing to women as main target customers, but also to
broad range of customer segments.
