The first location of "Kuro-hitsuji," a restaurant specializing in Genghis Kahn lamb dishes, was opened in a renovated old warehouse in Nakameguro, Tokyo, by owner Mr. Kazuhisa Ishitani of Sapporo, Japan, the home city of this type of cuisine. In a classy space which overturned pre-conceived notions of how such an establishment should look, the restaurant offered exceptional Genghis Kahn cuisine from lamb (mutton) chosen for its origin as well as its processing and aging methods at reasonable prices.

Since its opening, there are lines daily of a wide range of customers including students, office ladies, businessmen, and families due to many factors such as the restaurant's "highly fashionable-ness" unrivaled by any other, "the tastiness of the food" and "reasonable prices." Other factors also added to the restaurant's popularity including the "safe quality" of lamb meat - it does not contain infectious diseases such as BSE and bird influenza which have been problems in recent years - and the "healthy quality" of lamb meat - it contains large amounts of the amino acid "carnitine" which burns off body fat.

And on this occasion, as a beginning to a branding strategy focused on multiple location openings, the second location will open in Shimokitazawa on July 22 (Friday) - this is also the first anniversary of the Nakameguro restaurant's opening.
